Sugar Sugar January Project Of The Month

The project of the month for January at the Sugar Bowl is to make paper beads and use them on your project. They have a tutorial here that shows you how. I have been wanting to do this all month and just never got to until earlier today. I barely got in done in time as they will post the February POM on Sunday

Belli #52 Baking A Cake

Happy Wednesday its Belli Day and not just any Belli day it is the one year Anniversary of Belli's! So in honor of that we are baking anniversary cakes. I must say that this is the hardest cake I have ever baked! We also have a Guest Baker with us this week Lee Murphy you can see her cake here
Here's what you do, hopefully you went to Chrissy's blog yesterday and got your 5 ingredients or got them from my blog, if not you can still play just pick 5 ingredients and bake your cake. Leave a comment on Chrissy's blog with a link to your cake creation. If posting on SCS or PCP please use CBC52 as the keyword so we can find it.

here were my five ingredients:
Flour = Brads
Sugar = Design Paper
Butter = Vellum
Chocolate = Buttons
Cream Cheese = Chipboard

I had no clue what they were going to be until after I picked them so it was more challenging and I had the toughest time trying to put them together in a card. The Heart is Chipboard but it was the Vellum I had the toughest time with as far as what I wanted to do with it, but I ended up printing scripture on it from my computer and then stamping Love on it also and placing over design paper.
It took me two attempts to bake this cake. Below is a my first try. I still printed scripture from my computer but I used a chipboard frame. This was was just a little too plain I guess for me so I attempted another using the hearts.

I do not have any Stampin Up cardstock so I used CTMH's Cranberry, Bubblegum and Chocolate.
The stamp set is that cute little owl from Sweet N' Sassy stamps she is a favorite of mine. I added some hearts from another SNS set sweet Gretchen and colored them in with my copics. I colored Olivia also with my copics but paper pieced her belly to match the design paper. The sentiment is computer generated. The sketch for this card one of Julee's at Mojo Monday.

Let's Bake A Cake!

Can you believe it has been ONE YEAR of Belli Challenges already!? For those of you who may not know what a Belli Challenge is...

Each week, Chrissy tries to give us a challenge that will use things we have lying around our stamp rooms or homes! With a constant flow of new things coming out, we tend to forget about the other things we have and they quickly become clutter!

For the week of January 28, Belli #52, we are hosting a VERY special Belli Challenge in celebration of our One Year Anniversary. Some of you may have played this game before with some other groups... We will be BAKING A CAKE to celebrate our First Anniversary of Belli Challenges.

How do we play BAKE A CAKE? Listed below is a list of cake ingredients. You all must pick 5 ingredients, and reply on Chrissy's BLOG with your choices, you can list them on your upload too, but don't share what the ingredients stand for, link them up at Creating with Chrissy! Tomorrow Chris will give you the list of what the ingredients are equal to in Embellishments! On this second list is the corresponding crafting ingredient for the items you picked. For example, flour = ribbon (just an example - the actual list is different). Your challenge is to create a card with those 5 ingredients that you chose. You could wind up having to create a card with ribbon, chipboard, designer paper, buttons, and paint. This is the fun part. You don't know what you are picking!! Are you ready for this fun challenge?? Be sure to reply to Chrissy what your 5 choices are.

Sugar Bowl Challenge

A friend sent me some Sugar Nellie images so I was able to play in the Sugar Bowl this week. The challenge is THREE which meant you have to use 3 different design papers, and three different types of embellishments. I used flowers, brads and buttons. This was a fun challenge. Sweet N' Sassy Cupcake

This week was my turn to set the challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenge and we have had sketch challenges for the last few weeks so I thought we would do a 3-2-1 challenge. What is that you ask? Well it is to use 3 different colors of cardstock, 2 embellishments such as buttons, brads or flowers, and 1 ribbon. Belli Challenge 51

I was to post this yesterday but had some technical difficulties and could not post until this morning but here we go....
Each Wednesday, Belli Queen Chrissy D tries to give us a challenge that will use stuff we have lying around our stamp rooms or homes!
This weeks, Belli Challenge is to make a project with your RE-INKERS.

Here is what you need to do...

Make a completed project with your RE INKERS - I used them in the shaving cream technique for my background paper, you can find how to do this technique here, you could use your refills for several other techniques as well like Polished Stone, watercoloring, reinker splash to name a few. I just got around to doing this earlier today, This card also qualifies for the challenge at OOh-la-la where their challenge is a Valentine card. I just love these Magnolia images they are so cute this image is one a friend sent to me so I do not know the name sorry.

Jan 16th DT Reveal

It's reveal time and Deanne at Just My Sketches has come up with another wonderful sketch. She does these twice a month Layout sketches on the 1st and 15th of the month and cards on the 2nd and 16th of each month you can always find one here to try.

This is my take on it. It was a challenging but fun sketch. The stamps set is one from Verve that I came across that I had got for Christmas and I really needed this verse yesterday as I made this card. God always knows our needs, and I praise HIM for that!

CBCC Inspiration

I have been wanting to participate in the Challenge Chick Challenge for awhile now and just got sidetracked each week which seems to be happening alot lately. But tonight I stopped by her blog and saw this challenge which is to make a project using the cover of the CD you are currently listening to, so I immediately grabbed the cover of Third Day off of itunes. I buy all my albums off of itunes because most of them are only 9.99 . This is there newest one and it is great!

Belli Challenge #50

Happy Wednesday! you know what today is? It's Belli Day and this week's challenge is
UNUSED, NEGLECTED STAMPS (use any well loved stamps that you haven't inked up in a while).
So I looked through my stamps and I found this one, that I haven't used since October. The name of it is "Hugs for Janessa" (SNS) and some of the proceeds from each sale of it benefit a sweet little girl named Janessa, who has downs syndrome and leukemia, she is the 2yr old niece of Korin the owner of Sweet N' Sassy stamps. You can follow her journey here. This is such a sweet set and will make great Valentine's day cards. The sketch I used is from Mojo Monday and the paper is Bo Bunny. Sweet N' Sassy Mojo

Good Sunday afternoon everyone. I have struggled to find some mojo this week finally got a little this afternoon to complete Sketch#68 for the Mojo Monday challenge for this past week. For this sketch I used the Love Scripture set from Sweet N' Sassy
The cardstock is CTMH~ Petal, Buttercup and Vanilla. The design paper is K&Co that I got for Christmas so with that being the case, this card also qualifies for the challenge at Cute Card Thursday which is to use something that you either received as a gift for Christmas or bought yourself during the holidays.
