Virtual Party for Lisa!

Good Morning Stampers!
Before I get to my challenge post I have some special news. We are having a Birthday Blog Hop! Today is Lisa's birthday and she has no clue we are doing this. Please drop by her BLOG to wish her a Happy Birthday . If you came from Candace's blog then you are on the right track for the party. I have brought some Ice Cream for the party. You will want to go to Helen's blog next to see what she brought to the party and also her challenge card as well.

Now for the challenge. Randi is our hostess this week and her challenge to us is to make a card, layout or project that includes an image of gifts or giving gifts somewhere on it. Randi had this challenge already set not even knowing that today was Lisa's birthday, Now how cool is that?

Her challenge was based on these two verses she chose:

Matthew 2:11 "After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh." Matthew 7:7-11: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in Heaven give what is good to those who ask it.

Now hop over to Helen's to see what she has brought to the party and don't forget to wish Lisa a Happy Birthday!

Paper Maniac ~ Gift Card Holder

Hi there, it has been one super busy week for me, with Thanksgiving and all the shopping. There is always someone on my list that I have no clue what to give them so I usually get a gift card of some sort. I decided to share this gift card holder with you, so that you can make one for those on your list that you do not know what to buy them. It is super easy to make you just need some design paper, cardstock and a stamp. I made mine in the shape of a tag and it measures 31/2 X 6. I used the Graphic 45 Christmas Past papers and Christmas List from Unity Stamp Co. I tore around the edges and distressed them to give the stamped image a vintage feel as well.

I wish all my USA stampin' friends to have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving and a safe weekend. How many of you are getting up early for the sales?

Belli 79 ~stretchNbubbles

Good Wednesday morning its time for another Belli challenge. Our sponsor for this challenge is stretchNbubbles digi stamps. Our challenge is to use CHIPBOARD somewhere on your project. I used a chipboard tag for my sentiment. The image is from stretchNbubbles, I colored it using my copic markers and added some liquid applique for the whip creme. Be sure to go to the Creative Belli blog to see the rest of the DT creations.
To play along make a project using CHIPBOARD somewhere on your project and link it using Mr. Linky on the Creative Belli blog. If you post to an online gallery please use keyword CBC79 so we can find it.
My card also qualifies for the challenge at Stamp Something which is "Thank You" somethings.
My Sisterhood 24 also has Thank you cards as this weeks challenge so it goes for that as well

Give Thanks

Our hostess this week is Helen, and she chose Galatians 6:19 as her scripture Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
When you think of harvest your mind goes to thanksgiving. But when the Bible speaks of harvest it speaks of reaping and sowing, here on earth for the kingdom of God. When we share the good news about Christ we plant a seed to be sown. We may not always be the one who reaps the harvest but when we get to heaven we shall see our rewards.
This Thursday is Thanksgiving day here in the U.S. so, the challenge is to Make a Thanksgiving Card (or, if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, make a giving thanks card or project).
We are thousands of miles away from family so we do have a family meal that day. This year we are going with friends to deliver meals to families. Thanksgiving always makes me reflect on what I am thankful for: My Savior, my family, friends, church, there are so many more I could name. What are you thankful for?

Sweet Stop Sketch

I am behind on this one as it is last weeks Sweet Stop sketch. I had this card in mind but never got around to making it until today. The set I used is one of my favorite scripture sets at Sweet 'n Sassy Jesus Cares. The paper is CTMH and the flower was just a white prima but I made swirls using my Copic markers.

More Decoration A Day At Paper Maniac

I took last weekend off due to my daughter graduating from BMT. Today I would like to share a decoration that I make every year. All you need is a candle, and a few other supplies that most stampers already have on hand. They are so easy to make.
Cut a square of white tissue paper and stamp you image onto it. Place the tissue paper on the candle and cover with wax paper. Using your heat gun melt the tissue paper on the candle and smooth out wrinkles as you are heating. Remove wax paper and there you have a beautiful image on your candle. You can use ribbon, gems, or any embellishment you wish to decorate.
Supply List :
Stamp Set: Flourishes
Plain Candle, Heat Gun, Tissue Paper,
Wax Paper, ribbon, pearls

Kim at Sherrod Studios has 2 new sets to be released this Thursday and over the next two days you will get to see some sneak peeks, so make sure you stop by all the DT blogs over the next few days. On Thursday Kim will give away a set to one lucky winner.
But today is also Tuesday Throwdown and the challenge this week is a color challenge using the colors below
I have been away in San Antonio, TX for my daughter graduating from BMT. She is now an Airman in the U.S. Air Force and I am very proud of her. With me being gone for 5 days, I came home to tons of things that needed to be done one of them being this card :)
I had to throw it together pretty quickly and this color challenge was a real challenge for me! The base is goldrush/summer sun the mat is autumn terracotta/pumpkin pie, the design paper is blush/pretty in pink and the ribbon and gems are cranberry/real red.

SSIC #13

This week Peggy Sue is our hostess and she really gave us a challenge or she did me I must say.
God lead her to chose this verse:
"For now we see through a glass, darkly;
but then face to face: now I know in part;
but then shall I know even as also I am known."
1 Corinthians 13:12 (KJV)

Her challenge challenge related to that verse , involves a technique, the shadowbox card. No more shadows, no more dim reflections when we get to heaven! Well I had never made a Shadow Box card so at first I thought Oh No! This turned out to be a very simple and fast card to make. HERE is a tutorial to help you. The set I used is Elegant Blessings from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I added some skickles for a little bling.
