SSCC #24~ A Childlike Faith

Good Sunday Morning!
Sunday means its time for another Stampin' Sisters In Christ challenge and this weeks hostess is the talented and wonderful Helen. She chose this verse to share with us this week:

"Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child
is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

Matthew 18:4

And her challenge for us is to make a card with an image of a child or childlike things on it (such as a card with toys or a saying about children), but not a baby card!

A child's faith is amazing they trust us as parents for everything and never doubt. That is the way God wants us to trust in Him. He will provide for our every need, and He loves us more than we could ever love our children.
I pray for that type of faith, there are days when I seem to think that God cannot handle my problems and I try to do it myself only to fail miserably. God knows what is best for us always all we have to do is have faith like a child and trust Him .
I encourage you to come over to the challenge blog and see the Design Team's creations!

So to mark this momentous occasion we decided to do a Magical Mystery Blog Hop where all the cards will be inspired by a song title, lyrics, album cover or something about the Beatles.
My card is inspired by the song "Here comes the Sun" a song by George Harrison from The Beatles' 1969 album Abbey Road. It has been rainy, icy, snowy here and I am ready for some sunshine.
Supplies: Unity Oct. KOM, Jillibean Soup Kraft, Bazzill Basic CS, Gems

Patti has a couple of great prizes for you to win here are the details:

Its time for another recipe challenge and this week with it being cold weather Julie chose "Drinks To Warm The Soul". This is a drinks only recipe challenge, it can be hot chocolate to coffees or anything to warm the soul.
I love a cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter day, so I immediately thought of a hot chocolate recipe to make you warm. I know Christmas is over but this recipe makes a cute gift to give your friends. You can decorate the jar to make it even more special.
To play along make a recipe card using a drink recipe and post a link on The Recipe Challenge Blog. Make sure to stop bu Julie's store Scrapbook Store At Your Door for all your supplies to make some awesome recipe cards.

A Touch Of Green

Good Sunday Morning,
I hope you are having a wonderful day in the Lord. Our Stampin Sisters In Christ challenge this week is set by Peggysue and she chose this verse.

"For you have been born again, not of perishable seed,
but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God."
1 Peter 1:23 (NIV)

Her challenge is, since most seeds come up as tiny green shoots, use the color green somewhere in your creation, not all over green, just a touch somewhere.
I chose this image I had had since Christmas and have not used yet to work with. When I think of seeds I think of the beautiful things that come from them like flowers, and this allowed me to use just a "touch" of green.

Now it has been a week since I last posted and I know many are you are wondering what is up because I usually post everyday or at least 3 or 4 times a week.
Well we had some ciaos happen with my daughters graduation from Tech school. She was supposed to graduate yesterday the 19th so we had planned to go down on the 15th so we could spend the holiday weekend with her and attend her graduation on Tuesday and head back home as she headed to Germany. The military moved her graduation up to Friday the 15th. We did not find this out until the night of the 13th so we had to hurry, pack up and leave therefore I didn't get to make my cards and get them posted. She was scared that she was going to be shipped out to Germany as soon as she graduated that Friday night or Saturday morning. We immediately started praying and God was faithful and allowed us to spend the entire weekend together, She is now in Germany and I am back home so get ready for some posts. Thanks to those of you who knew my situation and said a prayer.

Broken Made Beautiful

Good Sunday Morning!
This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad it it. This weeks Stampin' Sisters In Christ challenge is hosted by Pamela and she choose this beautiful verse of scripture.

"Come, let us return to the Lord.
He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us;
he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds."
Hosea 6:1
What a beautiful verse and wonderful promise! God is always close to the brokenhearted Psalm 34:18.
Pamela challenges us to make the broken look beautiful...create a Mosaic, tear apart and stitch back together, or use the cracked glass technique. In some way have your image look broken.
I love how beautiful the Cracked Glass technique turns out. It makes my image beautiful even though it is broken. The stamp set I used is a new release from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps March Daffodil.

Scripture Challenge 2010

Patter Cross at Triple the Scraps is hosting another scripture challenge this year. She hosted one in 2008 and I wanted to participate and never did. Every other week she will give a Word on Sunday for us to search the scriptures on how it speaks to us and make a 6x6 page using 2 of them. I could only fit one on my page because of putting the definition of Hope. I have also journaled on the back several other verses reflecting Hope.

Week 1 is HOPE
this was taken from her blog
"As Christians, we have hope in Christ. We have hope in the resurrection. What are you hoping for? Are you hoping for a better 2010 than a 2009? Maybe you had some difficult trials last year? Maybe you even felt hopeless at times, or maybe even today you are weary and you feel like you have no where to turn. Well, I am here to tell you that just as God has provided for you in the past, He will do the same today and in the year to come. Look back at those trials. Can you see His provision and blessings? You can trust that He is able and He will provide. God is our hope for the future and in all situations. Are you looking to Him or focusing on the difficulty?"

For my 6x6 page I used the Blue hill papers from Crete paper and a Plain Jane stamp from Verve.

Feel The Joy At Paper Maniac

My card share uses a Unity Stamp Co stamp set Feel The Joy, that you can find at Paper Maniac. The paper I used is Earth Love, a mini deck 6x6 pad from Cosmo Cricket. Patti has placed lots of new items in the store for your stampin' enjoyment.
Don't forget about our Magical Mystery Blog Hop on Jan 30th. You will receive a $5.00 certificate just for joining us.
