Her Children Call Her Blessed

Good afternoon, I just finished this card for my friend and wanted to share with you. My friend lost her Mother this past December and I know (from losing my Mom in Dec when I was younger) that this first Mother's day without her will be a tough one! Hopefully this card along with words from my heart will cheer her up a bit.
My card is also made to qualify for a few challenge blogs.

A Daisy For Lucy T.

My card share today was made for one of my old school principals. We had heard horror stories of her in grade school she was very old and mean. We were not thrilled to have her for two years in Junior High, once we got there she wasn't as bad as we had heard, but we were ready to give her up in High School because we had heard great stories about the High school principal, well guess what? He retired before we got there and ole Lucy T. (that is what we called her) followed us to high school and was there all four years with us. She retired when we graduated. As I look back as an adult I can see she was the best principal and really cared for her students. I got word that she is not well so I wanted to send her a card to let her know I am praying for her.
On my card I used the April Daisy digi from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps. I also used a Spellbinders Impressabilities and then sponged with Distress Inks after I embossed. Fun technique and I love the turned out.

Happy Earth Day !!!

Happy Earth Day!
When I think of earth day I immediately think nature and recycle. My card uses both of these thoughts. I used the Digital stamp Enjoy The View, and paper pieced the trees and used a cardboard box lid as my background, I found this twine from a tag off of my husbands shorts and it made the perfect ribbon.
Enjoy The View happens to be today's early bird freebie in our SNR and PCP groups. If you play along before midnight tonight EST. If you do not have time to play today you still have a chance to get a coupon for a free digi with a $10.00 order if you play along by midnight EST Wednesday April 28th .
Can wait to see your Earth Day project.

We are also celebrating Earth Day at Paper Maniac so I will have another project for that on Saturday
